Polycarbonate

A highly durable, transparent plastic material that is commonly used in applications requiring high impact resistance and optical clarity.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a durable and versatile thermoplastic material that offers several benefits for custom projects. It has excellent impact resistance (up to 250 times stronger than glass) and can withstand significant force without cracking or breaking, making it an ideal choice for applications that require toughness and durability.

Polycarbonate solid sheet and film products have the potential to provide value-added solutions across a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, transportation, electrical and electronics, building and construction, material handling, telecommunications and business machines.

Additionally, polycarbonate has high optical clarity and light transmission, making it suitable for applications that require transparency and visual appeal, such as skylights, windows, and protective barriers. Typical sheet applications also include architectural glazing, machine guards, and sight glasses.

Chemical Resistance

The main disadvantage of polycarbonate is its poor resistance to some chemicals, particularly alkalis and many organic chemicals which can cause stress cracking.

Impact Resistance

250 times stronger than that of glass.

UV Resistance

Most sheet products of Polycarbonate have a UV coating on each side of the sheet to protect it from damage.
